The Local Area
Sitio de Gomeira is a typical Algarvian farming
area, stretching from the village of Conceicao to the sea, through fields
of almond, olive, orange and lemon trees.
The Quinta or Farm is situated within the Ria
Formosa nature reserve, an under developed wild life area stretching from
Faro in the west to Cacelha Velha in the east.
In Conceicao village, a seven minute walk from the
Quinta, there is a post-office, a chemist, two mini-markets, bars, and
restaurants, plus regular bus and train services.
